Hey everyone!
My name's Akash (pronounced uh-cash) and I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here.
I am a student at Berklee College of Music and have very recently gotten into Parkour, and have been practicing the basics (with the help of the recently released book "The Parkour and Freerunning Handbook" by Dan Edwardes) for only a few weeks, and would absolutely love to meet people in the Boston area who are either beginners like me, or people who are more experienced. It's all good,…

Ok I am in Montreal, Canada right now and I wanted to make it known... no matter what anyone says Montreal's olympic stadium is surounded by the best hotspot parkour has ever seen... I was in the place for 45 minutes and could see and run more routes then I have ever seen anywhere else I have ever gone. I am talking overwhelming PK vision that spans the size of several football fields... IT WAS EPIC. Honestly I have never seen a video or a single place live that was even close to matching the pa…

Today I went down to Short Beach on lordship blvd. There's a bar that overlooks the beach, that I did a diving front flip layout over ^_^, I was trying to find a spot to do this forever, I'm so psyched that I finally got it, I'll be posting a video soon.
I also Learned a forwards side flip, unfortunatley, i didn't video tape it. For those who don't know what that is, it's were you basically run forwards and go into the side rotation but continue going strait.
This was a great day!

Around the time I started college I independently discovered serious hip-hop. I've always loved all genres of music and just gravitated to the bits and pieces that I liked, but most of the music I ended up listening to was rock influenced due to the tastes of the people around me. However after finding in myself a real love for hip-hop it led me to discover the genre on my own and find out what I truly liked. So basically this led to me looking at the music I had previously listened to and branc…

So there's this 10 foot wall that i've been practicing wallclimbs on. I can normally get up once or twice per day. Yesterday and today, i was feeling right on target, and i got up the wall 4 times in a row today, and got up 6 times yesterday. Needless to say, i can actually see my training work and i can feel improvement almost daily.
Im happy =D

Hey... so today was decent. Today the boarding students at my school returned and my friend, who is a traceur and I finally got to get together with our other friend to whom we introduced pk. It was so awesome to finally jam again... my traceur friend helped me tweak some of my vaulting techniques and I worked on some climb ups and stuff... it was spiffy. Not much to report, really, but I guess I'm just happy to have other pk people around... even if they totally show me up in front of my friend…

I got bored in gym today, and have only been doing side flips off stuff, never on flat ground. Even off of small little 5 inch gerders or sutin. So I finally said whatever and flipped, and landed it. I did it 14 consecutive times in a row before I got a little dizzy lol ^_^. I'm really siked about this, time to learn more tricks. I plan on learning Three variations of the wall flip. Backwall, Sidewall, Frontwall next.

Well today I was with a new Traceur I had just met at school, lately I've been really focused on tricking, I've taught myself aerials, websters, front layouts, side flips, double leg sides and stuff like that. But he is all about Parkour. So as soon as we start walking by the buildings, he starts climbing them in ways I hadn't seen before. So we start climbing and messing around with techniques, we came across these abandend factories, so we decided to shoot some video.
The last building, was a…

Being the only parent on the playground with their 2 year old seemed wierd enough.. But there was something missing. eventually i've started to use these obsticals to entertain myself (as well as impressing my young one, and catching and awkward eye from other parents). While browsing youtube i bumped into parkour videos!!!! I have doing this without any sense direction other than "hey lets try this" But i've been extremly intriugued by the discipline in an almost martial arts sense i'm looking…

Once again, I feel the need to talk about my life and stuff. Woo Hoo. *waves tiny flag*
Anyway, I felt like saying I was proud of myself for taking my danger level up a notch in my training. Lately, I've just been working on jumps and low vaults with very minimal probabilty of anything going wrong. However, after waking up this morning and listening to Rise Against's "Siren Song of the Counter Culture" album, that sense of adventure kicked into me and even after a handful of oily salt and vineg…

yep the long awaited sequel... it sucks... sorry guys its true... Just finished it and it was quite disappointing alot of the parkour (most of the impressive parkour) is faked/ special effects/wire work...not good at all, quite disappointing. I am kinda surprised Monsure Bell allowed such a thing to happen.... I will say more later when I get off the phone.
edit: As I said the parkour was quite disappointing, especially as a follow up to its prequel…. This movie includes more than a few ignor…
