messman replied to tim's discussion Gloves??
"I was thinking originally of high tech work gloves meant for applications like masonry: they have built in elastic panels to keep them taught and tough palms and finger panels. But I will look at lifting gloves as you say."

"I will keep in mind fingerless gloves: but my finger tips are particularly fragile and prone to tearing and cutting, so I will have to use caution and test them out."

messman replied to tim's discussion Gloves??
"I mean the high tech work gloves that are becoming popular: the ones that are a composite of different materials, some of them elastic to keep them taught. Something like these: a or b. I will bear in mind that buffet leather especially, and sued…"

"I will look into those; all that I have seen in person so far are high tech work gloves that have either a rubber like material or leather for palms and finger tips. I will have to compare to those at a sports store: the sports store may have more…"

messman replied to tim's discussion Gloves??
"I was thinking of going with full work gloves because my finger tips are particularly sensitive. But fingerless gloves seem very popular with people who use gloves. What is your opinions of their pro/cons?"

"I used to carry heavy loads long distances and light construction. But I do art, some arts and crafts, and some repair work on delicate items. From personal experience I can attest the callouses reduce your sense of touch: but it is not noticeable…"

messman replied to tim's discussion Gloves??
"I see: they look good for many applications. The cheaper high-performance work gloves look to be a better deal. It is hitting Spring, and it will be a long time before I can really get into it hard enough that I can see how they will fair. A lot…"
