From Nashua you'd take 111 east, take a left on 28, and go about 2 miles down

Check the events too, there's a weekly jam indoors at Gym-Ken Gymnastics in Windham, so that's not much of a drive for you

Gym looks similar to ours. Wish I could make it, but it's to long of a drive. Wish I could train with some people more my level like you guys, not the biggest crowd around here.

I can't do that anymore, working back up to it though! The only thing I could add is to watch your breathing. It's very hard to breathe correctly when you're working that hard, but you need to try to exhale when you exert force (on the way up) and b…

My surgery

Just had my gallbladder removed! Doc said I should be 100% again after a little more than a week. Crazy that they can remove an internal organ and barely have any down time after! Look how bloated my stomach is after being inflated for the laproscopic surgery! My belly button is in the wrong place!

Going out with a bang (more of a "pop" really)!

I was running around Harvard Square today with Jeff, and he gave me a lot of helpful pointers that really helped improve my kongs and wall runs/tic-tacs. I got in some good practice on rails and dropping from heights (9 or 10 feet) into a roll (on nice soft grass), and then on a running jump from a bench to a wall, I didn't take a practice jump to the side first like Jeff suggested I do, and I hit the wall with a lot of speed and my feet planted firmly in front of me. If I had a bit more height… Continue

The writings of Morihei Ueshiba (Ōsensei), the founder of Aikido

There are a lot of parallels in the philosophies of Aikido and Parkour. If you're interested in more, pick up a book called "The Art of Peace", or Aikido and the Dynamic Sphere. Here are a few quotes from him-

"Instructors can impart only a fraction of the teaching. It is through your own devoted practice that the mysteries of Aikido are brought to life."

"It is necessary to develop a strategy that utilizes all the physical conditions and elements that are directly at hand. The best strategy r… Continue

If ye wouldn't mind I need a little bit of help. See, my friend is dangerously overweight and has asked me to help him out with workouts and such as I'm the fittest of our group of friends. Basically I'm asking if you could help me out by giving me some work outs or whatever that help with that sort of thing.

Thanks either way.

There's 2. One at MIT (Mass. Ave. in Boston) open to the public. If you give me your email address I'll forward you the summer schedule, or I can cut and past it here. There's even a 3 hr class on Sat afternoons if you live far from the city. The second is at Full Out in Watertown. I can send you the link to that as well. Full Out also has 5 open gyms a week for an hour each. MIT has 2 or 3 a week. Full Out is run by Jamnastics and if you look them up on the website you'll find the address and class hrs and cost.

I grew up here as well. My father was ill and I came back to help out my sister and mother for a while. I had lived in SF for 7 yrs, came back for a short time then moved to LA for 8 years and love it! My father is much better but the economy is so bad right now in LA I will stick around here a little longer. Parkour is amazing and a must to learn. I just got back into a gymnastics class trying to get back up to speed - I've been out of operation for awhile.

You're right, "stuck" is a little harsh... I'm just used to palm trees, sand and outdoor weather all year round. I made a deal with myself that if I was going to stay in New England longer than planned then I would learn to snowboard (never been) and I've been feeling much better about the whole thing.
