So.

Sometimes you just can't really get out, find a nice urban location, and train. Sometimes all you have is half an hour to spare but you want to train PK. Sometimes your backyard just looks too tempting.

How would you go about creating a good set of PK training obstacles for home use? I think it would be fun to put our heads together and design some great home obstacles; it would give us a great opportunity to think outside of the box. Maybe we could even bring some of the smaller things we design (parallette bars, for example) to jams.

Let's try to design our obstacles to be modular (able to be maneuvered and fit into a larger "course"), transportable (able to fit into the trunk of a car), and as inexpensive to build as possible.

Let's do this!

Well my entire yard is littered with shit for me to use. I have maple trees with amazingly positoned branches, stone walls, a great deck, and honestly I do alot of my training and exercising out of my own yard. Me and my father are currentley in the begining stages of a home Parkour course, with a 15 foot by 12 foot monkey bar system, 10 feet high. Many vaulting obstacles, as with precisons that are going to be placed in our yard.

First I thought, "Yeah, I'd pay" but then I realized where I do MN, and the huge amount of area I haven't even touched yet. Pay? No way. ;D

Yeah I'd be really happy with an area like that. But...I suppose I've got 2 small playgrounds with playscapes and chain link fences within 5 minutes of me.

Kinda makes you feel weird when you're the only 20 year old playing around there, though.

There are guys in their 40s and 50s doing parkour and MN. If you have a training partner, the social fear drops to about 25%.

You're in Framingham, right? You've got several state parks and reservoir parks in the area. Long's Playground and Farm Pond Park are right behind HQ. Develop your "parkour vision" to see the possibilities around you.

Yeah...I guess the biggest challenge for me is finding someone who's as willing to do parkour and will be as tenacious as I am. I have one friend who's been trying it out, but he's kind of flaky lol. Anyways, looks like I'm gonna have to boss up and go independent.
